Phone BasicsSection 2A. Phone Basics 39Entering Text in Landscape ModeAccessing the QWERTY KeyboardThe Samsung Rant™ has a built-in, keyboard-stylekeypad, referred to as a QWERTY keyboard. Thekeyboard is located beneath the display screen and isaccessed by sliding it open. This orients the phone'sdisplay to landscape (widescreen) mode.Using the QWERTY keyboard, you can type letters,numbers, punctuation, and other special charactersinto text entry fields or other applications simpler andfaster than using the telephone keypad.To open the phone and access the keyboard:1. Rotate the phone 90 degrees counter-clockwise.2. Slide the top section of the phone up to open, asshown in the illustration below.
