44MessagesYour phone can send and receive text messages,or send e-mails. It can also receive voicemailnotifications.When the phone receives a message, an alertsounds and a text notification displays along withthe name and phone number of the sender, ifavailable. The New Message icon remains on thescreen until you read the new text message or youlisten to the new voicemail message.Messages are received even when your phone is inLock mode. To access a message, you must unlockthe phone.Write (Menu 2-1)You can create a text message or an e-mail andsend it to other mobile phones.SMS (Menu 2-1-1)1. Enter the message text.To add a message template, press the Optionssoft key and select Templates.To retrieve a number from Phone Book, pressthe Options soft key and select Contact.2. When you finish entering text, press the Nextsoft key.3. Enter a destination number using the numerickeys.Messages45Pressing the Options soft key allows you tosearch your Phone Book or SMS Groups for anumber.4. When you finish entering, press the Next softkey.5. To select an option, press Up or Down andpress the Edit soft key and enter informationor change the setting. The following optionsare available:• Msg: allows you to change the messagecontents you’ve already entered.• Send To: allows you to change thedestination phone number.• Settings: allows you to change the messageoptions in order.After changing the first option, press theNext soft key. You can then set the nextoptions. When you set the last option andpress the Save soft key, the settings aresaved and the display returns to the NewMessage screen.Priority: you can select a message priority.Validity: you can select the length of time forwhich your message is stored at the messagecentre while attempts are made to deliverthem to the recipient.Send Later: you can select the length of timefor which the delivery of the message will bedelayed at the message centre, if you don’twant to send it immediately.Delivery Ack: select Yes to be informedwhether or not your message has beendelivered to the recipient by your network.
