96Section 7Send Text MessagesYou can use your SCH-n330 phone to send text messagesto, and receive text messages from, compatible phonesand other devices. You can use the various text entrymodes your phone provides to compose your messages.See "Section 5: Entering Text" on page 63 for moreinformation about these text entry modes.Note: A text message can contain a maximum of 160 characters. If youmust send a message that exceeds 160 characters, you must send morethan one message, which can incur additional cost.To compose and send a new text message, do thefollowing:1. In idle mode, press the Menu (left) soft key ( ), thenpress (Messages) and (Send New Msg). TheSend To screen appears in the display.2. Enter the phone number of the recipient, then press .The Messages text entry screen appears in the display.3. Enter the text for your message using the keypad.To change your current text entry mode and/or add somepreviously saved text to your message, press the Option(left) soft key ( ). A pop-up menu containing thefollowing options appears in the display:• T9 WORD or ABC (highlighted)—Change the text entry mode.See "Section 5: Entering Text" on page 63 for informationabout the text entry options your phone provides.• Text Format—Select text appearance options, such as Size,Mode, Bold, and so on.
