Settings 123Security SettingsLock PhoneLocking the phone limits all outgoing calls except calls to 911 emergency and thethree user-programmable emergency numbers. You can lock the phone manuallyduring use, or set the phone to lock automatically when it is turned on. With thephone in lock mode, you can answer incoming calls, but you must unlock the phoneto place outgoing calls (except to emergency and secret numbers).1. In standby mode, press the MENU ( ) key, then press (forSettings) and for Security. You’re prompted to enter the lock code.Note: The default lock code is the last four digits of your telephone number.2. Press for Lock Phone. The following options appear in the display:• Disable — The phone remains unlocked.• Enable on Power Up — The phone locks automatically the next time yourphone is powered ON and stays locked until you enter the lock code.• Enable Always — The phone locks immediately and stays locked until youenter the lock code.3. Use the navigation keys to highlight the Lock Phone option of your choice.4. Press the key to perform the function for the highlighted option.Change LockThe default lock code for your phone is generally the last four digits of your phonenumber. It is advisable to change the default lock code to a secret code for securitypurposes.1. In standby mode, press the MENU ( ) key, then press (forSettings) and for Security. You’re prompted to enter the lock code.Note: The default lock code is the last four digits of your telephone number.2. Press for Change Lock. You’re prompted to enter the new lockcode.3. Enter the new lock code. You’re prompted to re-enter the new lock code forverification.4. Enter the new lock code again. Your changes are stored.Note: Your phone does not allow you to view the lock code for obvious security reasons.
