1.37Set UpHow To Enter Characters Using the NumberKeypadAs you perform various tasks, you’ll need to enter a name. Forexample, when you set up your product, you enter your name (oryour company’s name). When you store numbers in memory, youmay also enter the corresponding names.To enter alphanumeric characters:1 When prompted to enter a name, locate the button labeledwith the character you want.Press the button repeatedly until thecorrect letter appears in the display.For example, to enter the letter O, press 6,(labeled MNO).Each time you press 6, the display shows adifferent letter, first M, then N and O, andfinally 6.You can enter special characters (space, plus sign, etc.). Fordetails, see “Keypad Character Assignment” on page 1.38.2 To enter additional letters, repeat Step 1.If the next letter is printed on the same button, move thecursor by pressing the Scroll button ( ), then press thebutton labeled with the letter you want.The cursor moves right and the next letter appears in thedisplay.If you want to insert a space in the name, you can also usethe Scroll button ( ) to move the cursor and skip theposition.3 When you finish entering letters, press Enter.
