INSTALLING A NETWORK OPTIONA.2Installing a Network Interface CardTo install an optional network interface card, take the followingsteps:CAUTIONS:• DISCONNECT THE POWER CORD. Never remove the controlboard while the printer is plugged in. To avoid the possibility ofan electrical shock, always disconnect the power cord wheninstalling or removing ANY printer options.• DISCHARGE STATIC ELECTRICITY. The control board and theinterface card are sensitive to static electricity. Before installingor removing the card, discharge static electricity from your bodyby touching something metal, such as the metal back plate onany device plugged into a grounded power source. If you walkaround before finishing installation, discharge any staticelectricity once again.1 Unpack the network interface card.
