2.38 Other FunctionsUser OptionsYour fax machine has various user-selectable features. These options arepreset at the factory, but you may need to change them. To find out howthe options are currently set, print the System Data List. For moreinformation on printing the list, see page 2.35.Setting an Option1. Press Menu, then press System Data on the one-touch keypad.The display shows the first option menu.2. Scroll through the options by pressing † or π repeatedly.3. When the option you want appears in the display, enter the numberfor the desired status. Or, You can use √ or ® button to select thedesired status, then press Enter after choosing.You can exit from setup mode at any time by pressing Stop. Whenyou press Stop, the machine stores the options you’ve alreadychanged and returns to Standby mode.Selectable OptionsThese instructions assume you’ve followed the steps above under‘Setting an Option’ and the machine is prompting you to change one ofthe options listed here.• PAPER SIZE—Select the paper size you will use for the recordingpaper.Press 1 for letter (LTR), 2 for A4 size, or 3 to use legal (LGL) size paper.• MESSAGE CONF.—A message confirmation report shows whetherthe transmission was successful or not, how many pages were sent,etc.Press 1 to print a confirmation report automatically each time yousend a fax (ON).Press 2 to turn this feature off (OFF).Press 3 to print only when an error occurs and the transmission wasnot successful (ERR).
