78Sound SettingsYou can use the Sound Settings feature tocustomise various settings, such as the:• Ring melody, volume and type• Sounds made when you press a key, make anerror or receive a messageNote: When the phone is in the silent mode (seepage 28), you cannot change the soundsettings.Ring Tone (Menu 3.1)This option allows you to select the required ringmelody.You can choose between many different melodies.Each time you select a melody, it is played for a fewseconds. If you have downloaded any sounds fromthe Internet or EasyGPRS program, you can viewthe list in this menu.Ring Volume (Menu 3.2)This option allows you to adjust the ring volume toone of five levels.Use the and keys or the and keys onthe left side of the phone.Sound Settings79Alert Type (Menu 3.3)This option allows you to specify how you are to beinformed of any incoming calls.The following options are available.Light Only: only the backlight is switched on; thephone neither rings nor vibrates.Melody: the phone rings using the ring melodyselected via the Ring Tone menu option(Menu 3.1); see page 78.Vibration: the phone vibrates but does not ring.Vibra+Melody: the phone first vibrates threetimes and then starts ringing.Keypad Tone (Menu 3.4)This option allows you to select the tone that thekeypad generates when you press a key.The following options are available.Off: the keys do not make any sound.Cool: each key, when pressed, generates a puresound.Piano: each key, when pressed, generates adifferent note in the musical scale.Tone: each key, when pressed, makes a differentsound.Beep: each key, when pressed, makes the samesound.
