82Text messagesShort Message Service (SMS) allows you to sendand receive short text messages to and from otherGSM mobile phones. In addition, your phonesupports the Enhanced Messaging Service (EMS),which enables you to make messages that includesimple pictures, melodies, and animation. To usethis feature, you must subscribe to the messageservice of your service provider.When the Message icon ( ) appears, you havereceived new text messages. If the memory is full,an error message displays and you cannot receiveany new messages. Use the Delete option in eachmessage box to delete old messages to allow thenew ones to come in.Inbox (Menu 1.1)This message box is used to store the messagesthat you have received.When you enter this menu, the list of messages inthe box displays with the senders’ phone numbersor names, if available in Phonebook.1. Select a message from the list and press theView soft key to read the message contents.2. To scroll through the contents, press the Up orDown key.3. To scroll to the previous or next message, pressthe or key.While reading a message, you can choose thefollowing options by pressing the Options soft key:Delete: allows you to delete the message.Text messages83Send: allows you to resend the message. Forfurther details about how to send a message, seepage 85.Text reply: allows you to reply to the sender bysending a text message.Call back: allows you to call the sender back.Cut address: allows you to extract the sender’snumber and URL /e-mail addresses or phonenumbers from the message text, so that you cansave them in your phone’s memory or SIM card.Move to phone: allows you to move the messagefrom the SIM card to the phone memory. Thisoption is only available when you select a messagestored in the SIM card.Move to SIM: allows you to move the messagefrom the phone memory to the SIM card. Thisoption is only available when you select a messagestored in the phone memory.Select objects: allows you to save media objects,such as sounds or images, from the message intoyour phone. You can use the objects when writingfuture messages.
