Text Messages62Text MessagesShort Message Service (SMS) allows you to send and receiveshort text messages to and from other GSM mobile phones.In addition, your phone supports the Enhanced MessagingService (EMS), which enables you to include simple pictures,melodies and animated images in your messages. To use thisfeature, you must subscribe to your service provider’smessage service.When the Text Message icon ( ) appears, you havereceived new text messages. If the memory is full, an errormessage displays and you cannot receive any new messages.Use the Delete option in each message box to delete theobsolete ones.Inbox (Menu 1.1)This message box is used to store the messages that youhave received.When you enter this menu, the list of messages in the boxdisplays with the senders’ phone numbers or names, ifavailable in your Phone Book.1. Select a message from the list and press the View softkey to read the message contents.2. To scroll through the contents, press the Up or Down key.3. To scroll to the previous or next message, press the orkey.While reading a message, you can choose the followingoptions by pressing the Options soft key:Delete: allows you to delete the message.Text Messages63Send: allows you to forward the message. This option is only availablewhen you select a message stored in the SIM card.Move to SIM: allows you to move the message from thephone’s memory to the SIM card. This option is only availablewhen you select a message stored in the phone’s memory.Select Objects: allows you to save media objects, such assounds or images, from the message into your phone. Youcan use the objects when writing a message.
