62MessagesThe SMS (Short Message Service) function is anetwork service and may not be supported by yournetwork. Messages can be sent by text, fax, E-mailand paging messaging systems, provided that theseservices are supported by your network. To sendtext messages by phone, you must obtain thenumber of the SMS centre from your serviceprovider.When the message icon ( ) appears, you havereceived new text messages. If the messagememory is full, an error message is displayed andyou cannot receive any new messages. Use theDelete option in your inbox and outbox to deleteobsolete messages.Inbox (Menu 1.1)The inbox is used to store the messages that youhave received.When you select this menu, the list of messages inthe inbox is displayed with the senders’ phonenumbers or names, if available in your phonebook.1. Select the message you wish to read from thelist and press the View soft key to view themessage contents.2. To scroll through the message, press theor key.3. To scroll to the previous or next message, pressthe or key.Messages63While reading a message, you can choose thefollowing options by pressing the Options soft key.Delete: allows you to delete the message.Send: allows you to resend the message. Forfurther information on how to send a message, seepage 65.Reply: allows you to reply to the sender by sendinga text message.Call Back: allows you to call the sender back.Cut Address: allows you to extract URL orE-mail addresses or phone numbers from themessage text, so that you can save them in thephonebook.Move To Phone: allows you to move the messagefrom the SIM card to the phone memory.Move To SIM: allows you to move the messagefrom the phone memory to the SIM card.Select Objects: allows you to save media objects,such as sounds or images, from the message intoyour phone.
