71Voice Functions70RecordThis option allows you to record voice tags andassign them to the appropriate numbers.Say the name that you wish to use for voice diallingafter you hear a voice prompt. For best results, usenames with at least two syllables, or use both a firstand last name. The phone stores the name as thefirst sample, and then prompts you to say the nameagain.Respond to the prompt by repeating the name. Thephone stores the name as the second sample andthen requests the phone number.To store the number, press the OK soft key. Followthe instructions described on page 35 to store thenumber into your phonebook.ActThis option activates voice dialling.You hear a voice prompt and Say Name isdisplayed. Say the voice tag clearly. If no match forthe voice tag is found or recognised, the phone mayask you to try again. Otherwise, the phone automa-tically dials the number of the recognised voice tag.Note: This option only appears when you havealready recorded at least one voice tag.Voice FunctionsYou can use the voice functions to customise thefollowing features:• Voice dialling• Voice commands• Voice memos• AnswerphoneVoice Dial Menu 3-1The Voice Dialling feature allows you to make phonecalls by saying a voice tag that has been assigned to aname and phone number. Any spoken word, a name forexample, can be a voice tag.Before using the Voice Dialling feature, note that:• Voice tags are not dependent on the speaker’slanguage but on his/her voice• Voice tags are sensitive to any background noiseRecord them and make calls in a quiet environment• When recording a voice tag or making a call, holdthe phone in the normal position close to your ear• The maximum length of a voice tag is about1.5 seconds, but very short names are not accepted• You can store up to twenty voice tags in thephone’s memory• The phone must be in a service area with adequatecellular signal strength
