These codes help you protectthe phone against unauthorised use.The access codes (except for the PUK and PUK2codes) can be changed using Security menu options.See page 98 for further details.Phone PasswordThe phone password can be set to avoid unauthoriseduse of your phone. The password generally suppliedwith the phone is 0000. You are recommended tochange it before you start using your phone. Keep thenew password secret and in a safe place, separate fromthe phone.If you key in an incorrect password five times insuccession, the phone will not accept the correctpassword for the next five minutes.PINThe PIN (Personal Identification Number) protects yourSIM card against unauthorised use. The PINis usuallysupplied with the SIM card. When the PIN Checkfeature is enabled (menu option 5-3-1), the PIN isneeded each time the phone is switched on.If you key in an incorrect PIN three times in succession,key in the PUK and press OK. Key in a new PIN andpress OK. Key in the new PIN again and press OK.
