Phone Settings98 99Phone SettingsFDN ModeThe FDN (Fixed Dial Number) mode, if supportedby your SIM card, allows you to restrict youroutgoing calls to a limited set of phone numbers.The following options are available:Disable: you can phone any number.Enable: you can only call phone numbers storedin the Phonebook. You must enter your PIN2.Note: Not all SIM cards have a PIN2. If your SIMcard does not, this menu option is notdisplayed.To change your PIN2, refer to the Change PIN2menu option (Menu 5.6.7) below.Change PIN2The Change PIN2 feature allows you to changeyour current PIN2 to a new one. You must enterthe current PIN2 before you can specify a newone.Once you have entered a new PIN2, you areasked to confirm it by entering it again.Note: Not all SIM cards have a PIN2. If your SIMcard does not, this menu option is notdisplayed.Display Settings (Menu 5.7)ContrastThis option allows you to adjust the brightnessof the display screen to make them lighter ordarker.To adjust the display contrast:1. Adjust the contrast by using the andkeys or the and keys on the left side ofthe phone.2. When you are satisfied, press the OK soft keyto save the selection.Back LightYou can select whether or not the phone usesthe backlight. A marginal increase instandby/talk time can be achieved by turning thebacklight off.Select the length of time for which the backlightis on. The backlight comes on when you press akey or receive a call or message and lights upfor the specified length of time. Then it dims andfinally switches off after one minute.15 seconds, 30 seconds, 1 minute, 3minutes and 10 minutes are available.If you do not want to use the backlight, selectOff.
