Your handset has 4 pre-loadedMessaging services (AIM, ICQ, Windows Live, and Yahoo!).Starting your Instant Messaging1. In Idle mode, press the Menu soft key to access Menu mode.2. Using the Navigation keys, scroll to the IM icon. Press the Select soft keyor the key to enter the menu.3. Highlight the messenger service to which you are subscribed to using theUp or Down Navigation key and press the Select soft key or the key.4. Highlight the Sign on, Connect, or Sign in option, depending on yourmessenger service and press the Select soft key or the key.5. Enter the required sign on information such as ID and password, thenpress the Down Navigation key.Note: The information required for sign on will vary depending on the Instant Messaging provider you areusing.6. With all of the appropriate fields filled in, press the OK soft key.7. If you use Windows Live, agree to the terms and conditions of use for thisservice and press the I agree soft key or the key.8. Follow the on-screen instructions to read, reply to, compose, send, andmanage your Instant Messaging account.Using the Instant Messenger OptionsAfter selecting an Instant Messaging service, the following options appear:• Sign on/Connect/Sign in: allows you to login to your Instant Messaging account.• Saved conversations: shows permanent records of your Instant Messagingconversations.• Offline conversations: shows a listing of the last 10 IM conversations made whileyou were online.• Preferences: this option applies only to windows Live. Allows you to deleteFavorite IDs, turn Power on Sign in On or Off, turn Automatic sign-in On or Off, andadjust the sound settings for New IM, Alert, System message, and Repitition.• Settings: allows you to turn the Power on sign in/Power on connect/Power on signin On or Off, add or delete Favorite IDs, turn the Auto-sign in/sign on/Connect On orOff and adjust the Sound settings for Receive message, Contact alert, Systemmessage, and Repetition.
