83BluetoothAbout BluetoothBluetooth is a short-range wireless communications technology capable ofexchanging information over a distance of about 30 feet without requiring a physicalconnection.Unlike infrared, you don't need to line up the devices to beam information withBluetooth. If the devices are within a range of one another, you can exchangeinformation between them, even if they are located in different rooms.The following Bluetooth options are available:Turn Bluetooth On/OffThis option allows you to turn Bluetooth On or Off. Make a selection and press theSelect soft key or the key.My devicesThis option allows you to search for new Bluetooth devices. Highlight the Searchnew device option and press the Select soft key or the key. The phone willsearch for available devices.My visibilityThis option allows you to make your phone visible (On) to nearby Bluetooth devicesin search mode, or invisible (Off). Make a selection and press the Select soft key orthe key.My phone nameThis option allows you to change the name your phone sends to other Bluetoothdevices. Use the keypad alpha-numeric keys to change the current phone name. (Formore information, see “Entering Text” on page 37.) Press the OK soft key to saveyour changes. Press the key to discard your changes and return to idle mode.Security modesThis option allows you to set your security modes to Off or On. Make a selection andpress the Select soft key or the key.
