Messages 54In addition to the familiar text content available via traditional text messages, multimedia messages can containimages, graphics, voice, and audio clips. A Picture Messaging message is a picture presentation contained in asingle file. It is not a text file with attachments.The Message icon ( ) displays when you receive a new picture message.Using the Picture Message feature, your phone can receive and send messages that contain multimedia files, suchas photos, sounds and images that you downloaded from the Internet and voice notes you recorded. This function isavailable only if it is supported by your service provider. Only phones that offer multimedia messaging features canreceive and display picture messages.Creating and Sending a Picture Message1. In Idle mode, Touch Menu ➔ Messaging ➔ Create message.2. Tap the screen to display the keyboard and create your message.Tip: Tilting the phone to a horizontal position displays the QWERTY keyboard, while holding the phone in the vertical position displays thenumeric keypad. Additionally, the QWERTY keyboard and the numeric keypad can be changed only when the angle of a phone fromthe ground is more than 40 degrees.Note: For further details about entering characters, see “Using T9 Mode” on page 35. For more information about entering characters,see “Using ABC Mode” on page 37. You can enter up to 2000 standard Alphabet characters per page in your message. Themessage can be up to 20 pages long or a total of 2000 characters per page.3. When you finish entering your message, touch Done.4. Touch Image to add a picture to this message and select from the following, and then touch Add:• Take photo: launches the camera and allows you to take a photo to attach to this message.• Add from photos: allows you to select a picture from the Photos album to attach to this message.5. Touch Sound to add a sound to this message and select from the following, and then touch Add:• Record sound: allows you to record a voice message to attach to this message.• Add from sounds: allows you to select a sound from the Sounds folder to attach to this message.6.
