These codes helpyou protect the phone against unauthorized use.The access codes (except for the PUK and PUK2codes) can be changed using the Security menuoption (Menu 9-5). See page 103 for furtherdetails.Phone PasswordThe phone password can be used to avoidunauthorised use of your phone. The password“0000” is usually supplied with the phone.Change the password before you start using yourphone. Keep the new password secret and in asafe place, which is separate from the phone.If you enter an incorrect password five times nsuccession, the phone will not accept the correctcode for the next five minutes.PINThe PIN (Personal Identification Number)protects your SIM card against unauthorised use.It is usually supplied with the SIM card. Whenthe PIN Check feature is enabled (see page 104),you must enter the PIN each time you switch onthe phone.If you enter an incorrect PIN three times insuccession, enter the PUK and press theConfirm soft key to unlock the phone.
