This section will help youlearn the basics of using your PCS Vision services, including managingyour User Name, launching a Vision connection, and navigating the Webwith your Vision-enabled PCS Phone.Your User NameWhen you buy a Vision-enabled PCS Phone and sign up for service,you're automatically assigned a User Name. Then, when you use PCSVision services, your User Name is submitted to identify you to theenhanced Sprint Nationwide PCS Network. The User Name is also usefulas an address for PCS Mail, as a way to personalize Web services, and asan online virtual identity.A User Name is typically based on the customer's name and a number,followed by "@sprintpcs.com." For example, the third John Smith to signup for PCS Vision services might have jsmith003@sprintpcs.com as hisUser Name. If you want a particular User Name, you can visitwww.sprintpcs.com and get the name you want – as long as nobody elsehas it.Note: If you already have a PCS Mail User Name, that will automaticallybecome your PCS Vision User Name.Your User Name will be automatically programmed into your PCSPhone. You don't have to enter it.Finding Your User NameIf you aren't sure what your PCS Vision User Name is, you can easily findit online or on your PCS Phone: At www.sprintpcs.com: Log on to your account using your PCS PhoneNumber and password. Your User Name appears in the top banner,next to your phone number. On your PCS Phone: Your User Name should appear on your phone'sdisplay screen in standby mode. Press for Main Menu.2. Press for Web.3. Your PCS Vision connection will launch and the PCS Vision Homepage will display.Shortcut: You can also press the navigation key right to launch the Web.Note: If Net Guard is enabled and displayed (see below), select OK (rightsoftkey) to continue and launch the Web.While connecting, the following will appear on the screen: Internet -Connecting as jsmith003@sprintpcs.com....If you had a previous PCS Vision connection, the last page you visited willdisplay when you launch your browser, for example, PCS Short Mail orESPN Top News. When this occurs, you may not see the "Connectingas..." message when you launch the session. Though the browser is open,you are not currently in an active data session - that is, no data is beingsent or received. As soon as you navigate to another page, the activesession will launch and you will see the "Connecting as..." message.The PCS Vision Home Page
