Section 2: Understanding Your Phone2J: Getting to Know the Handheld Computer 100Tapping and TypingTo navigate the handheld computer, you must use the stylus. The stylusworks similar to a mouse on a regular desktop machine, but instead ofclicking an icon, you tap it. The first time the handheld computer isturned on, a setup screen is displayed with instructions. Theseinstructions include a calibration setup that aligns the internal circuitrywith the touch sensitive screen.Note: Make sure you always use the stylus when touching the screen. Ifyou use another device, the screen may become scratched.The stylus can also be used to drag and select text on the screen. Simplypress the stylus to the screen and drag it across the characters withoutlifting from the surface. Highlighted text indicates it has been selected.TypingIncluded in the handheld computer is a fully functional on-screenkeyboard. To access the keyboard, tap either the alpha or numeric iconslisted on the bottom of the screen in the Graffiti text area. Once thekeyboard is displayed, use the stylus to select the letters or numbersdesired.Opening an ApplicationFollow the steps listed below to use the stylus to open an application onthe handheld computer:1. Remove the Stylus from your phone.2. Find the Calculator icon on the handheld computer screen .3. Tap the stylus lightly on the icon.4. Use the stylus to touch the number keys, enter values into thecalculator and perform calculations.
