Phone Basics 26Phone BasicsUsing VoicemailAll unanswered calls to your phone are automatically transferred toyour voicemail, even if your phone is in use or turned off. Forinformation on configuring and retrieving your voice mail, see"Voicemail" on page 59.Using Caller IDCaller ID allows people to identify a caller before answering thephone by displaying the number of the incoming call. If you do notwant your number displayed when you make a call, just follow theseeasy steps.To block your phone number from being displayed for a specificoutgoing call:1. Press .2. Enter the number you want to call.3. Press .To permanently block your number, call the Customer Servicedepartment of your network service provider.Note: If you have not subscribed to Caller ID, and the back light is set toturn off after a period of time, pressing will switch the back light backon. Either press and hold or press twice to answer the secondcall when the LCD is turned off. To avoid this problem, set the back lightto "flip open".
