64Receiving New MessagesWhile text messages from other phones are delivered directly toyour phone, Picture messages, Video Messages, Voice Messagesand Email will be stored in the Inbox of the message server andthe server will alert you to new messages. Therefore you need toretrieve new messages to your phone and read them on thephone.Receiving a Text MessageWhen you receive a message the message ringer sounds, (unlessturned off), and New Text Message appears in the display alongwith the closed envelope icon . The date and time of themessage also appear in the display.1. Press to View Now or highlight View Later and press. The message is saved to your Inbox where you canview it later.2. With the message open, press the right soft keyOptions to Forward, Reply w. Copy, Save Quick Text, Lock,Add To Contacts, Messaging Font Size, Extract Addressesand Message Info. Press the left soft key Erase toerase the message.3. With the message open, press REPLY to return amessage to the sender.Receiving Picture MessagesWhen you receive a new Picture Message, NEW MULTIMEDIAMSG. appears in the display along with the options View Now orView Later.Note: For the option Reject to appear in the display when you receive aPicture Message, Pic-Voice Auto Receive mode must be set to Off inthe Message Settings menu. The default Pic-Voice Auto Receive valueis set to On.1. When you receive a new Picture Message, pressView Now.2. After loading, the image (and text if any) contained in thePicture Message appears in the display.3. Press the Directional key up or down to scrollthrough the message or view the entire picture ifnecessary.4. Press the left soft key Mute/Unmute (while anattached sound byte is playing), or the right soft keyOptions.
