27English03 Basic Features■ Digital Caption Options: (digital channels only)Size: Options include Default, Small, Standard andLarge. The default is Standard.Font Style: Options include Default and Styles 0 to 7.The default is Style 0.Foreground Color: Options include Default, White,Black, Red, Green, Blue, Yellow, Magenta and Cyan. Youcan change the color of the letter. The default is White.Background Color: Options include Default, White,Black, Red, Green, Blue, Yellow, Magenta and Cyan.You can change the background color of the caption.The default is Black.Foreground Opacity: This adjusts the opacity of text.Options include Default, Transparent, Translucent, Solidand Flashing.Background Opacity: This adjusts the opacity ofthe caption background. Options include Default,Transparent, Translucent, Solid and Flashing.Return to Default: This option sets each Size, FontStyle, Foreground Color, Background Color, ForegroundOpacity and Background Opacity to its default.✎ NOTE Digital Caption Options are available onlywhen Default and Service1 ~ Service6 can beselected in Caption Mode. The availability of captions depends on theprogram being broadcasted. The Default setting follows the standards set bythe broadcaster. The Foreground and Background cannot be setto have the same color. You cannot set both the Foreground Opacityand the Background Opacity to Transparent.Network (Network Type / Network Setup/ Network Test / SWL (Samsung WirelessLink) / SWL connect)For details on set up options, refer to the “NetworkConnection” instructions (p. 30).General■ Game Mode (Off / On): When connecting to a gameconsole such as PlayStation™ or Xbox™, you can enjoya more realistic gaming experience by selecting thegame menu.✎ NOTE Precautions and limitations for game mode– To disconnect the game console and connectanother external device, set Game Mode to Off inthe setup menu.– If you display the TV menu in Game Mode, thescreen shakes slightly. Game Mode is not available when the input sourceis set to TV or PC. After connecting the game console, set Game Modeto On. Unfortunately, you may notice reduced picturequality. If Game Mode is On:– Picture mode is set to Standard and Sound modeis set to Movie.– Equalizer is not available.■ BD Wise (Off / On): Provides the optimal picture qualityfor Samsung DVD, Blu-ray and Home Theater productswhich support BD Wise. When BD Wise is turned On,the picture mode is automatically changed to the optimalresolution.✎ Available when connecting Samsung productsthat support BD Wise through a HDMI cable.■ Menu Transparency (Bright / Dark): Set theTransparency of the menu.■ Melody (Off / Low / Medium / High): Set so that amelody plays when the TV is turned on or off.✎ Melody is disabled when FastStart is On.■ FastStart (Off / On): When the TV is powered on, thescreen will come on quickly with this feature.■ Light Effect (Off / In Standby / Watching TV /Always): You can turn the LED on/off on the front of TV.Turn it off to save power or if the LED is too bright foryou.✎ Set the Light Effect to Off to reduce the powerconsumption.✎ The color of light may very depending on themodel.
