0TO MAINTAIN THE LIFE OF THE LAMP, ONCEYOU TURN THE PROJECTOR ON, WAIT ATLEAST FIVE MINUTES BEFORE TURNING ITOFF.Power off? disappears after 4 seconds.Turning Off the ProjectorPress the ON/STAND-BY button on the top control oron the remote control, and Power off? appears on thescreen.Press the ON/STAND-BY button again to turn off theprojector. The POWER indicator starts to blink red, andthe cooling fans keep running. (You can select the levelof fans’ quietness and speed. See “Fan” on page 58.)At this time, you can unplug the AC power cord even ifthe fans are still running.13 When the projector has cooled down enough, thePOWER indicator stops blinking and you can turn onthe projector.Note:• When the On start function is set to On, the projectorwill be turned on automatically by connecting the ACpower cord to an AC outlet (p.53).• The running speed of cooling fans is changed accordingto the temperature inside the projector.• Do not put the projector in a case before the projector iscooled enough.• If the WARNING indicator blinks or lights red, see“WARNING indicator” on page 61.• While the POWER indicator is blinking, the lamp isbeing cooled down and the projector cannot be turnedon. Wait until the POWER indicator stops blinking to turnon the projector again.• The fan rotation will terminate directly if the AC powercord is unplugged immediately after the projector isturned off.• The projector can be turned on after the POWERindicator turns red. The waiting time to restart will beshortened when the normal power-off processing for fancooling is completed, compared with the time the ACpower cord is immediately unplugged after the power-off.DO NOT OPERATE THE PROJECTORCONTINUOUSLY WITHOUT REST.CONTINUOUS USE MAY RESULT INSHORTENING THE LAMP LIFE.
