- 11 -The air filters prevent dust from accumulating on the surface of the optical elements inside the projector. Should the airfilters become clogged with dust particles, it will reduce cooling fans’ effectiveness and may result in a buildup of internalheat and adversely affect the life of the projector. Clean the air filters by following the steps below.CAUtIoNDo not operate the projector with the air filters removed. Dustmay accumulate on the LCD panel degrading the picturequality of the projection mirror. Do not put anything into the airintake vents. It may result in malfunction of the projector.Cleaning the Air FiltersRECOMMENDATIONWe recommend avoiding dusty/smoky environments when operatingthe projector. Usage in these environment may cause a poor imagequality.When using the projector under dusty or smoky conditions, dustmay accumulate on a lens, LCD panels, or optical elements inside theprojector degrading the quality of a projected image.When the symptoms above are noticed, contact your authorized dealeror service station for proper cleaning.Press the latch and release it. Take off the filter cover.1Remove dust and dirt with a soft brush or a vacuum cleaner. Becareful not to damage the air filter and do not clean it with water.When the air filter gets dusty and dirty, replace it with a new one.For ordering the replacement filter, contact your sales dealer.3Put the air filter back into the position. Do not push the delicatefilter part. Make sure that the air filter is properly and fullyinserted.4Pull out the air filter.When taking out the air filter, put your fingers on the air filter’stabs and pull.
