37 EnglishFLASH SETTINGThe flash is used not only for taking pictures where there is insufficient light,but also when the subject is in shade or in backlight conditions. Your camera’sflash has four modes of operation (automatic flash mode, forced flash mode,flash off mode and red-eye reduction mode). Select the flash mode that isappropriate for the surrounding conditions. The flash can be enabled onlywhen taking single-shot still images.1 Display the Still Image ShootingScreen (page 27).2 Press the [n] ([?]) button.h The flash setting changes.h The flash setting appears on theLCD monitor.h The flash setting can also bechanged from the Shooting Screen(page 50).No flash indication:The camera will detect the subjectbrightness and use the flash onlywhen required.
