When youselect this option, a confirmation box opens1. Press ◄/► to select OK or Cancel.2. Press OK to confirm.Parental Control MenuThe choices in the US V-Chip and Canada V-Chipmenus involve software inside your TV, referred toas V-Chip, which allows you to block TV programsand movies. TV programs can be blocked by age-based ratings, such as TV-MA . If available, TVprograms can also be blocked by content, such asadult language (L) . Movies can only be blockedby age-based ratings. Once you block programs,you can unblock them by entering a password. Bydefault, the software inside your TV is turned off orunlocked.V-Chip reads the program’s age-based rating (TV-MA, TV-14, etc.) and content themes (Violence(V), Adult Language (L), etc.). If you have blockedthe rating and/or content themes that the programcontains, you receive a message that the channelis currently blocked. Change the channel or toenter your password and temporarily deactivate theparental controls.Broadcasters are not required to provide contentthemes, so programs received with no contentthemes are blocked only if you block their age-based rating. You can also block programs that havebeen given an Exempt rating, and programs that areconsidered unrated.Change V-Chip PasswordThe first time you enter the Parental Control menu, youmust set a password in order to adjust other parentalcontrol settings. To enter a V-Chip Password, followthese steps:1. Selelct Parental Control > Change Password,(Refer to Figure 6.) press OK/► to enter theChange Password screen.2. Use the number buttons to enter the four-digitnumber for your password.3.
