34 Introduction T2004 Multi-Control Head System Manual© Tait Electronics Limited May 2004control heads with the global mute function enabled will mute theirspeakers. If all microphones are on-hook then all the speakers will unmutewhen a call is received. A user shall be able to join a conversation by pickingup the microphone. This will unmute the speaker audio at that control head. With Global Mute disabled (i.e. the jumper is not fitted), received audio ispresent at all control heads, and transmit audio is heard at all heads exceptthe head that is transmitting. Not all control heads in the system must be set to the same Global Mutesetting. For example:■ Where a despatcher station has two control heads in the same room, bothheads would need Global Mute enabled to avoid audio feedback.■ Where a supervisor may have a control head installed in their office, andwants to hear all incoming and outgoing traffic, Global Mute would notbe enabled. Note that in this example, outgoing transmit audio from thiscontrol head would be heard at the despatcher’s station heads.General SpecificationsRadios supported Series II T2020 and T2040 radiosPossible number of control heads Between one and fiveControl head DC supply & Speaker connector Phoenix MCV 1,5/4-G-3,81 4 way jackControl head DC supply voltage (at 800mA) +13.8V nominal+10.8V minimum+16.0V maximumBalanced line audio levels Preset to -10dBm for receiver audioPreset to -15dBm for transmitter audioControl head dimensions Standard T2000 control head dimensions
