If you are going to erasea disc, make sure that it contains only recordings that youreally want to erase!If the erase operation has been selected, theword ERASE flashes on the display, andthe timer starts counting down a time valueshown on the display.At the end of the countdown period, the wordComplete appears briefly on the dis-play, and the display returns to the track/time display.Refreshing a discIf a CD-RW disc has been corrupted at any point (e.g.power has been cut off in the middle of a finalizeoperation, etc.), or has been used in a computer oranother piece of equipment that makes it unreadable,it is possible to “refresh” the disc to make it usableagain. This is equivalent to formatting a disk on acomputer to prepare it for use. This operationdestroys all data on the disc.1 With the disc loaded, and the unit in stopmode, press the ERASE key (D).2 Turn the MULTI DIAL control B or use theSKIP keys I until the display shows DISCREFRESH.If you do not want to proceed with therefresh operation, press any other key (suchas the STOP key).3 To refresh the disc, press the MULTI DIALcontrol or press the ENTER key 8.NOTEThis operation cannot be undone.
