38 TASCAM DR-70D11 – Troubleshooting8 The unit will not turn on.• Confirm that the batteries are not dead.• Confirm that the batteries are installed with the correct¥/^ orientation.• Confirm that the AC adapter (TASCAM PS-P515U, soldseparately) is securely connected to both the outlet and theunit.• When using USB bus power, confirm that the USB cable issecurely connected.• When using USB bus power, confirm that it is not connectedvia a USB hub.8 The unit turns off automatically.Is the automatic power saving function on? (See “Setting theautomatic power saving function” on page 34.)o Since this unit complies with the European Standby PowerRegulations (ErP), the automatic power saving functionoperates regardless of whether the unit is being poweredby an AC adapter or batteries. If you do not want to usethe automatic power saving function, set it to “OFF”. (Thefactory default setting is “30min”.)8 The unit does not function.• Confirm that the HOLD/ switch is not set to HOLD.• Is the unit connected to a computer by a USB cable?
