(Thedisplay will indicate FS UNMATCH).However if you have enabled the sampling rateconverter, recording can take place even if thesampling rate does not match (see “Using thesampling rate converter” on page 36).Specifying the recording file formatThe SS-R1/SS-R05 can record in MP3 or WAV format.The file format setting is made via the menu while stoppedor while in the record-ready condition (for details on menuoperations, refer to “Operations in the menu screens” onpage 16).1 Press the MENU key to access the main menu listscreen.2 Open the REC menu.3 Select the REC FORMAT item.4 Turn the MULTI JOG dial (or use the remote’s cursor§, ¶ keys) to select “.mp3” or “.wav”.5 Press the front panel ˚ key (or the remote’s cursor¥ key) to proceed to the detailed settings.6 Make settings for the following items.STEREO/MONOSpecify whether a stereo file or a monaural file will berecorded.SAMPLINGSpecify whether the sampling rate will be 44.1 kHz or48 kHz.BITRATE (selectable only if “mp3” is selected)Specify the bit rate. You can choose from 64 kbps, 128kbps, 192 kbps, 256 kbps, and 320 kbps.7 When you’ve finished making settings, press thefront panel TIME (ESC) key (or the remote’s CLR/ESC key) to return to the home screen.NOTEThe recording format setting is remembered even whenthe power is turned off.6 − Recording
