You willprobably use your computer for applica-tions other than audio, but we recom-mend that you avoid running other appli-cations at the same time you are runningaudio programs. Processing digital audioplaces a considerable load on your com-puter.This means that if you are running otherapplications (especially graphics or•Internet tools) at the same time as youraudio application, the processing maynot happen fast enough.Certain devices such as network cards orWinModems can cause conflicts withUSB processing. If you experience sucha conflict, you can use the DeviceManager to temporarily disable theoffending device.If your computer has an IDE hard disk,enabling Direct Memory Addressing(DMA) will improve performance.
