Usually a particular service name whichgenerates the system event is specified also within themessage. Messages from different services have differentcontext and different level of the details. Usually error,warning or informational system service messages arereported, however more detailed Debug level messagescan be reported also. The more detailed system messagesare reported, the greater volume of log messages will begenerated.SystemThe System tab contains administrative options. This pageenables the administrator to reboot the device, set itback to factory defaults, upload new firmware, backup orupdate the configuration and configure the administratoraccount.DeviceDevice Name (Host name) is the system wide deviceidentifier. It is reported by the SNMP Agent to authorizedmanagement stations. Device Name will be representedin popular Router Operating Systems registration screensand discovery tools.Device Name Specifies the system identity.Interface Language Allows you to select the languagedisplayed in the management interface. An example wouldbe for May 20th, 2010 your would type 05/20/2010System AccountsIn this section you can modify the administrator passwordto protect your device from unauthorized configuration.The default administrator’s password should be changedon the very first system setup:Administrator Username Specifies the name of thesystem user.Key button Press this button in order to change theadministrator password.• Current Password Enter the current passwordassociated with the administrator account. It is requiredto change the Password or Administrator Username.• New Password Enter the new password for theadministrator account.• Verify New Password Re-enter the new password forthe administrator account.Note: Password length is 8 characters maximum,passwords exceeding 8 characters will betruncated.Enable Read-Only Account Click to enable the read-onlyaccount and configure the username and password toprotect your device from unauthorized access. The defaultoption is disabled.• Read-Only Username Specifies the name of the systemuser.• Key button Press this button in order to change theRead-only password.- New Password New password used for read-onlyadministrator authentication should be specified.- Show Check this to display the read-only passwordcharacters you have typed.Change Click to save changes to any of the fields on theSystem tab.
