To adjust the contrast:Press the MENU buttonand select Contrast.Use the CHANNEL UP andCHANNEL DOWN buttonsto change the contrast toyour desired level.Press ENTER to set thenew contrast level and exit the menu.Lamp adjustThe LCD and keypad light up whenever you press a key onthe radio; the backlight stays on for 5 seconds and then turnsoff automatically. You can change the amount of time theLCD and keypad backlight stays on.Press the MENU button and choose Lamp Adjust.Choose how you want the backlight to operate:Always On makes the backlight stay onAlways Off makes the backlight never come on, orTimer makes the backlight stay on for a set amount oftime after you press a key.If you select Timer, the radio prompts you to choosethe amount of time you want the backlight to stay on.Choose from 5 seconds [5sec (Default)], 30 Seconds,1 Minute, or 5 Minutes.Press ENTER to save the new setting.Turning the key beep on and offKey beep is the tone that sounds when you press a key or abutton. To turn off the key beep, press the MENU button andchoose Key Beep. Select Off and press ENTER to save thenew setting.
