Setting the SquelchSince Squelch is automatically adjusted in trunking mode,it isn’t necessary to manually adjust the squelch controlwhile trunk tracking. However, the squelch setting youselect before you begin trunk tracking can affect how fastyour scanner acquires the data channel, and, in someinstances, the squelch setting can prevent your scannerfrom acquiring the data channel at all.SetSQUELCH in thisposition beforeselecting a trunkingbank.Note: You canchange thisrecommendedsetting, if necessary,to provide betterperformance in yourarea.Programming Trunking FrequenciesBefore you start programming your scanner to track atrunked system, consider the following:You can only program one trunking system in eachbank of your scanner.Trunking frequencies must be entered while in theTrunking Programming mode.If you’re in the Trunking Programming mode, youcannot select channels in other banks.For example, if you are programming Bank 4, youcan only select channels 91-120 with the( or)keys.37
