All rights reserved. unitech is a registered trademark of unitech Electronics Co., Ltd.Performing a Cold BootA cold boot cuts off power from the PA600, erasing all records and entries, deleting alladded programs, and restoring the PA600 to default factory settings.Data and time settings are not retained in a cold boot while formats, preferences andother settings restore to their default factory settings. Not even data stored in FlashStorage is retained.NOTE: Only perform a hard reset unless a soft reset does not correct the prob-lem. Data can restore through the next Microsoft ActiveSync operation,or it can transfer from a storage card.Perform a cold boot through the following:1. Press TAB.2. While holding TAB, insert the tip of theStylus into the Reset Button on thePA600’s back panel. Press and hold theReset Button until the Unitech logoappears onscreen. Wait five secondsand then release TAB.NOTE: The system returns to the default settings.
