8 9Putting your hearing aids in your earsYour hearing aids may be color-coded eitheron the shell or on a label on the hearing aid:red = right ear; blue = left ear.Inserting your hearing aid1. Hold the hearing aid betweenyour thumb and index fingerwith the battery door facingaway from your ear.2. If your hearing aid is a CIC,insert by holding the hearingaid with the removal handle atthe bottom.3. Gently insert the canal portionof the hearing aid into yourear using your index fingerto push back and tuck thehearing aid completely intoplace. It should fit snugly andcomfortably. Gently pull down and back onyour earlobe to help you insert the hearingaid into your ear canal more easily.1.2.3.Removing your hearing aid1. If your hearing aid is a CIC,gently pull on the removalhandle. To remove an ITEhearing aid, grasp it with yourthumb and index finger.2. Move your jaw up and downor apply pressure to the backof your ear to help loosen thehearing aid.Note: Do not use the controls or the battery doorto remove your hearing aids.1.2. |
