Safety 131 Safety1.1 General safety information1.1.1 Risk caused by inadequatequalificationsAssembly and disassembly, installation, start-up, maintenance, repairs and decommission-ing must only be carried out by a compet-ent person who is sufficiently qualified to ob-serve all of the instructions that come with theproduct, to proceed in accordance with thecurrent state of the art, and to comply withall applicable directives, standards, laws andother regulations.1.1.2 Risk of material damage caused byfrost▶ Do not install the product in rooms proneto frost.1.1.3 Danger due to malfunctions▶ Install the controller in a location where it isnot covered by furniture, curtains, or otherobjects.▶ If thermostatic control is activated, ad-vise the operator that, in the room wherethe controller is mounted, all the radiatorvalves must be fully open.▶ At lengths of 10 m or more, mains voltagesupply lines must be laid separately fromsensor or bus lines.1.2 Requirements for lines▶ Use standard commercial lines for the wir-ing.▶ Do not use flexible lines for mains voltagesupply lines.▶ Use insulation cables for mains voltagesupply lines (e.g. NYM 3 x 1.5).Minimum cross-sectionSupply line for mainsvoltage (pump or mixermains cable)≥ 1.5 mm²eBUS line (extra-lowvoltage)≥ 0.75 mm²Sensor line (extra-lowvoltage)≥ 0.75 mm²Maximum line lengthSensor lines ≤ 50 mBus lines ≤ 125 m1.3 Regulations (directives, laws,standards)▶ Observe the national regulations, stand-ards, guidelines and laws.1.4 Intended useIn the event of inappropriate or improper use,damage to the product and other propertymay arise.The product controls a heating installationwith a Vaillant heat generator with an eBUSinterface in a way that is weather-controlledand time-dependent.Intended use includes the following:– observance of accompanying operating,installation and servicing instructions forthe product and any other system compon-ents– installing and fitting the product in accord-ance with the product and system approval– compliance with all inspection and main-tenance conditions listed in the instruc-tions.Intended use also covers installation in ac-cordance with the IP class.Any other use that is not specified in theseinstructions, or use beyond that specified inthis document shall be considered improperuse.
