43Servicing 7Instructions for installation and servicing ecoMAX 437.2.4 Refitting the compact thermal module• Renew the silicone gaskets (1) (see Fig 7.3)• Loosely position the burner, fan and gas valve assemb-ly in place and reconnect the two electrical connec-tions to the fan.• Refit the burner, fan and gas valve assembly. Ensurethat the burner manifold gasket is correctly fitted andthat a good seal is obtained.• Reconnect the gas supply to the gas valve, ensuringthat a new sealing washer is used and correctly loca-ted.• Turn on the gas supply and test for soundness.• Reconnect the HT lead and earth lead to the sparkelectrode.• Refit the air inlet pipe.Danger:The two silicone seals (1 - fig. 7.3) on the com-pact thermal module ((SP no. 98-1046) must bereplaced each time the module is removed (forexample during maintenance). The burner flangeinsulation (2 - fig. 7.3) on the compact thermalmodule (SP no. 21-0734) may not show anysigns of damage; otherwise it must also bereplaced.7.2.5 Cleaning the condensate trapFig. 7.6 Cleaning the condensate trap• Unscrew the bottom section (1) of the condensate trap(see fig. 7.6).• Clean the bottom section of the trap by rinsing it outwith water.• Refill with water to about 10 mm from the top.• Screw the bottom section back onto the condensatetrap.Danger:Note that if the boiler is run with an empty con-densate trap there is a danger that fumes mightescape into the room and cause poisoning. Forthis reason, it is important to ensure that thetrap is topped up each time the unit is cleaned.7.2.6 Check expansion vesselFig. 7.7 Checking expansion vessel admission pressureNote:It is not necessary to perform this check everyyear – a check every three years is sufficient.• Ensure the boiler CH service valves are closed.• Release the pressure from the boiler.• Remove valve cap from expansion vessel charge point.• Check that the internal charge pressure of the expan-sion vessel is between 0.75 and 0.9 bar.If the pressure is lower than this the vessel should berepressurised using an air pump.• Refit the valve cap.• Repressurise boiler and heating system.11
