Installation and maintenance instructions ecoTEC 0020029172_03408.3.4 Installing the compact thermal module• Renew the seals (1) and (3) in the burner door(see Fig. 8.5).H Danger!Danger of combustion and damage due toescaping hot flue gases! Both seals (1) and (2) and the self-locking nutson the burner door must be replaced each timethe burner door is opened (e.g. duringmaintenance and service work). If the insulationlayer on the burner door shows signs of damageit must also be renewed (Item No. 210734).• Insert the compact thermal module (2, Fig. 8.3) intothe heat exchanger (1, Fig. 8.3).• Tighten the five nuts (7, Fig. 8.3) including theretainer for the air intake pipe crosswise until theburner door is uniformly seated on the contactsurfaces.• Plug on the ignition wire (5, Fig. 8.3) and the groundconnection (6, Fig. 8.3).• Plug on the cables (3, Fig. 8.3) at the fan motor andthe cable (4, Fig. 8.3) at the gas valve.• Connect the gas supply with a new seal to the gasvalve. Use the spanner flat at the flexible gas line tohold up the gas valves.1Fig. 8.6 Checking for gas tightnessa Caution!Open the gas feed and check the gas tightnessof the boiler with leak detector spray. Checkthe screwed connection (1) particularlycarefully.• Make sure the blue sealing ring in the air intake pipe ispositioned correctly in the seal face.• Insert the air intake pipe onto the intake stubs andfasten the pipe with the retaining screw (2, Fig. 8.2).8.4 Cleaning the condensate siphon1Fig. 8.7 Cleaning the condensate siphond Danger! If the boiler is operated with empty condensatesiphon, there is risk of poisoning from escapingflue gases. Therefore, fill up the siphon again after eachcleaning session.• Unscrew the lower section (1) of the condensatesiphon.• Clean the bottom of the siphon by flushing it out withwater.• Fill the lower section of the siphon about 3/4 withwater.• Screw the lower section back to the condensatesiphon.8 Inspection and maintenance
