44 Instructions for installation and servicing ecoTEC8 Troubleshooting8.1 Logical fault finding procedureThese checks must be carried out before attempting touse the fault finding guide.1. Carry out electrical safety checks (see section‘Preliminary Electrical Checks’).2. Check that the external electricity supply to the boileris on, and a supply of 230 V~ is present between boilerterminals ‘L’ and ‘N’.3. Check that the gas supply to the boiler is on, that ithas been correctly purged and that an inlet pressureof 20 mbar is available at the gas valve. (See section‘Gas Supply’).4. Ensure the heating system is full of water and chargedto between 1 and 1.5 bar. If not, refill and vent the sys-tem. (See section ‘Filling the heating system’). Ensureboiler flow and return service valves are open.5. Check that the main on/off control is set to the ‘on’position.6. Set the central heating temperature to maximum.7. Set the domestic hot water temperature to maximum(only 800 series).8.Check that all external controls are on and calling forheat (if no external controls are fitted, boiler terminals3 and 4 must be linked). Check that the boiler anti–cycling economiser is not engaged.8.1.1 Status codesThe status codes that you can see on the display pro-vides information about the current operating conditionof the appliance. The display of the status codes can be called as follows:plus proFig. 8.1 Display of status codes• Press the “i” key.The display shows the status code, e.g. S.04 for“Burner mode - Heating”.The display of the status codes can be cancelled as fol-lows:• Press the “i” keyor• Do not press any key for about 4 minutes. The current heating flow temperature appears in thedisplay again.Display MeaningAll models (heating mode):S.00 No heat demandS.01 Fan runningS.02 Water pump runningS.03 Ignition sequenceS.04 Burner ignitedS.05 Fan and pump runningS.06 Fan over runS.07 Pump over runS.08 Anti cycling modeecoTEC 800 and pro series only (Domestic hot water mode):S.10 Hot water demandS.11 Fan runningS.13 Ignition sequenceS.14 Burner ignitedS.15 Fan and pump runningS.16 Fan over runS.17 Pump over runecoTEC 800 and pro series only (warm start):S.20 Warmstart demandS.21 Fan runningS.22 Pump runningS.23 Ignition sequenceS.24 Burner ignitedS.25 Fan and water pump runningS.26 Fan over runS.27 Pump over runS.28 Anti cycling modeAll boilers:S.30 No heating demand from external controlsS.31 Central heating thermostat knob turned offS.32 Heat exchanger antifreeze active, as fan speed varia-tion is too high.
