Instructions for installation and servicing ecoTEC plus 0020020828_0712Fig. 3.5 Vertical Flue System Art. No. 30 32 003.5.1 Flue terminationThe following details refer to both flue systems.a. The terminal must be located where the combustiblesubstances can escape freely at all times.b. A plume of water vapour will sometimes be visiblefrom the flue terminal. Positions where this could be anuisance should be avoided.c. If the terminal is fitted less than 2 m above a balcony, above ground or above a flat roof to which peoplehave access then a suitable terminal guard must beprovided and fitted (made by Tower Flue Components,Tonbridge, TN9 1TB, Model K3, plastic coated).h Note!Vertical flues must not terminate within600mm of an openable window, air vent or anyother ventilation opening. The flue assembly shall be so placed or shielded as toprevent ignition or damage to any part of the building.Fig. 3.6 Terminal locationsh Note!Vertical flues must not terminate within600mm of an openable window, air vent or anyother ventilation opening.Terminal position mmA Directly below an opening, above an opening or hori-zontal to an opening, air brick, opening window, etc. 300B Below gutters, soil pipes or drain pipes 75C Below eaves 200D Below balconies 200E From vertical drain pipes and soil pipes 25F From internal or external corners 300G Above ground, roof or balcony 300H From a surface facing a terminal 600I From a terminal facing a terminal 1200J From an opening in the car port (e.g. door, window)into the dwelling 1200K Vertically from a terminal on the same wall 1500L Horizontally from a terminal on the same wall 300M Distance from adjacent wall for vertical Flue 500Table 3.1 Flue terminal position for a fan assisted concentric flueThe flue assembly shall be so placed or shielded as toprevent ignition or damage to any part of the building.h Note!In addition, the terminal should not be locatedcloser than 150 mm from a wallopening providedfor e.g. a window. Boundary flue terminationsmust as a minimum comply with Building regu-lation part „J“ 600 mm and should also be inaccordance with the Guide to Condensing BoilerInstallation which recommends 2.5 m from wall, fence or boundary.Where a plume diverter terminal is used this ismeasured in the direction of the flow of products.BS 5440–1: It is recommended that the fanned flue ter-minal should be positioned as follows:a. at least 2 m from an opening in the building directlyopposite, andb. so that the products of combustion are not directedto discharge across a boundary.1. Dimensions B, C and D: These clearances may be re-duced to 25 mm without affecting the performance ofthe boiler. In order to ensure that the condensateplume does not affect adjacent surfaces the terminalshould be extended as shown in Fig. 3.7.2. Dimension F: This clearance may be reduced to 25mm without effecting the performance of the boiler. However, in order to ensure that the condensateplume does not affect adjacent surfaces a clearanceof 300 mm is preferred. For IE, recommendations aregiven in the current edition of IS 813.3 General requirements
