They are onlysuitab le for children ag ed up to 12 orsmaller than 150 cm if used in conjunctionwith a c hild restraint.Three-point seat beltsThe front and rear seats are equipped withthree-point seat b elts with autom aticretractors and locking devices, allowingfreedom of body m ovem ent when thevehicle moves at a consta nt speed,although the spring-tensioned belts arealways a snug fit.The belt ha s a “vehicle sensitive retractor”whic h is d esigned to lock during heavyacceleration or deceleration in anydirection.Picture no: s11650.tifUsing the beltsFitti ng the beltPull the belt out ev enly from the retractorand g uide it over the should er, m akingcertain that it is not twisted.Insert the latch plate into the buckle.The seat back rest must not be tilted backtoo far (the rec om mended m aximum tiltingangle is approx. 25°).The la p belt m ust not be twisted and mustfit snugly across the b od y. Tension the b eltfreq uently whilst driving by tugg ing thediag onal p art of the belt.The shoulder b elt must lie snug ag ainst theshoulder, not under an a rm , across thenec k, over an armrest 3 or over the insid eshoulder. The belt should be tensionedfreq uently so that there is insufficient slac kto allow excessive forward movement inthe event of a collision.9 WarningAlwa ys wear your seat belt, also in urbantraffic and when you are a rear seatpassenger. It can sa ve your life.Pregnant women too must always wear aseat belt, keeping the lap belt low andsnug on the hips and pelv is (not the waistor abdomen, where actuating belttensioners could cause serious injury inthe ev ent of a c ollision).
