Operating Instructions34ADJUSTING CUTTING HEIGHTWARNINGThe engine must be stopped before ad-justing cutting height. Disengage the bladeclutch (PTO), stop the engine, and removethe ignition key. Wait for all movement tostop before getting off the seat.Cutting height is adjusted by positioning the four (4)retainer hitch pins in a series of seven vertical holeson the deck support pins. Lift handles have beenprovided on each end of the deck to assist in raisingthe deck while positioning the hitch pins. Cuttingheights range from 1 in. (25 mm) [top holes] to4 in. (102 mm) [bottom holes] in 1/2 in. Towing can produce excessive internalpressure and damage the transaxle(s).To move the mower with the engine NOT running(dead battery, maintenance, etc.), the transaxlesneed to be unlocked (released).1. Raise the body.2. Pull up on each transaxle lockout arm and movetoward the center of the machine to engage thestep that holds the arm in the UP (unlocked)position.3. The mower will “freewheel” with the arms in theLOCKOUT position.
