Lightly grease each deck support arm (2) on thetractor. Refer to Mower Deck Installationphoto for location of deck support arm.Deck SupportArmsMower Deck Installation2. Engage the deck carrier frame tube sockets onthe tractor support arms (refer to DischargeChute and PTO Shaft Guard Installation pho-to for socket location). Slide the deck onto thesupport arms approximately 3 in. (76 mm).3. Align and connect the splined PTO shaft andsocket halves, as shown in PTO Shaft Connec-tion photo. The PTO shaft has a pilot end toease alignment of shaft; fit shaft end into socketand rotate shaft until the splines line up as indi-cated by arrows, then slide together.Arrows on Shaft and Tube(Used to Align When Sliding Together)PTOConnectionPTO Shaft Connection4. Install the hitch pin through the hole on the endof each support arm to lock the deck in place(refer to Deck Counterweight Spring Installa-tion photo). Raise mower body (instead of lifting the front ofdeck) and clip the counterweight springs to thereceptacle on front of body. Lower the body totension the springs. (Refer to Deck Counter-weight Spring Installation photo.)6. With the counterweight springs connected, theweight on the deck caster wheels should be15 to 25 Ib (6.8 to 11.3 kg); this adjustment ispreset at the factory. If required, the spring ten-sion can be adjusted by tightening or looseningthe elastic stop nuts located underneath thelower spring hook, or contact your local dealerif additional help is required.
