Put on the rubber gloves to minimise the chance of any contamination to themachine and to protect yourself whilst the servicing procedure is being carried out2. You will need to stop the water supply to the machine by turning the isolationvalve to the off position and releasing the pressure by depressing the dispensebutton until water stops dispensing3. Isolate the power to the WL Max by turning off the red power switch at the rearof the machine and completely removing the power lead4. The filter is located in the WL Max base cabinet behind the lower back panel5. To replace the filter detach the water pipes from the elbow fittings at the top, then the filter can then be removed from the retaining bracket. Unscrew the filterhousing by twisting it clockwise, this will expose the CBC carbon cartridge. Thecartridge can then be removed from the filter housing and replaced by a new one6. The new filter cartridge will require flushing prior to being re-fitted into the WLMax. To do this connect a water feed directly into the inlet side of the filter andattach another length of pipe to the outlet side and direct this into a bucket/largecontainer or drain, then allow 10 litres of water to pass through the filter, to ensurethat any loose carbon fines are fully removed to avoid any damage being causedto the machine and to sufficiently generate the new filter cartridge7. After the filter has been flushed it can be replaced in the WL Max and the waterpipes can be reconnected8. Remove the UV lamp by unplugging the UV loom connector and pulling thelamp upwards. Then remove the top cover from the Firewall housing and removethe quartz spiral9. Check the spiral for any scale build up and clean were necessary10. Replace the quartz spiral into the Firewall housing and insert the new UVlamp assembly making sure not to touch the new UV lamp with bare hands as thiswill shorten the life of the lamp. Connect the UV lamp connector and replace theFirewall housing top cover11. Inspect all of the electrical and water connections on the machine, and takeany action necessary to prevent a fault from occurring12. Check the faucet nipple for any calcium build up or any visible damage andclean or replace it if necessary13. Reassemble the machine and secure all panels with screws14. Check that the air gap around the machine is sufficient and there is nothingblocking the ventilation15. Reconnect the power lead and insert it into the rear of the machine16. Flush through 5 litres cold water to ensure the water is running clear ofany carbon fines and that the taste of the water is clean and to the customerssatisfaction. If you are not happy with the quality of the water continue to flush anadditional 2-5 litres of water until you are satisfied with the taste17. The red compressor switch can now be turned on, allow the machine to coolthe water18. Clean the outside of the machine with a non-abrasive anti-bacterial wipe orcloth19. Taste the water one final time and check it is cooling the water.
