28TROUBLE SHOOTING SECTIONSYMPTOM PROBABLE CAUSE CORRECTIVE ACTIONOpener won’t work from wall button orradio control.No power to opener.Short circuit in wires to opener or wallbutton.Motor Protector trips open due to ex-cessive use.Check cord to outlet, wall switch andcircuit breaker.Isolate by disconnecting the wires atthe opener from the wall station.Allow motor to cool for 20 minutes andtry again.Opener works from wall button but notfrom radio control.Radio control system non-operational. Weak or dead battery in transmitter-replace.Security Code not matched betweenreceiver and transmitter (see page 16)If two or more transmitters don’t work,have Motor Control Board Tested.Door does not open and opener lightflashes.Something obstructing door travel.Insufficient opening force.Build up of ice and snow around door.Disconnect door from operator. Oper-ate door by hand to locate obstructionor call a service person.Adjust opening force. (See Adj. #1).Shovel and clear door area.Door does not open fully and lightdoes not flash.Open Limit not set properly. Adjust Open Travel with screwdriver,turn counter-clockwise to desired set-ting. 1/4 turn equals to 1” of travel (seeStep 28).Door stops and does not close fully. Close Limit not set properly. Adjust Close Travel with screwdriver,turn clockwise to desired setting. 1/4turn equals 1” of travel (See Step 27).Door closes and then returns to fullyopen position and opener light flashes.Door arm adjustment.Close travel adjustment is set beyondnormal door position.Obstructions on floor.Adjust rod in tube to provide 1” of“cushion” compression when door isfully closed (See Step 24 and 26).Adjust Close Travel with screwdriver,turn clockwise to desired setting. 1/4turn equals 1” of travel (See Step 27).Check for stones or ice under doorand remove.When activated with door in fully openposition, door travels for 1 second,stops, and returns to fully open posi-tion and light begins to flash.Infrared Safety Sensors out of adjust-ment or defective.Batteries in Wireless Safety Sensors.Obstructions in door opening.Infrared Safety Sensors alignmentshould be checked per instructions.(See Step 21 and 22).Check batteries and contact points.Check for object blocking InfraredSafety Sensors.Door reverses travel before reachingfully closed position and opener lightflashes.Activation of obstruction sensing sys-tem.Loose or hanging objects on door acti-vating Infrared Safety SensorInsufficient closing force.Check for binding in door travel (door“stops”, door tracks, etc).Remove objects.Adjust closing force.
