- 4 -Technical presentationCabinet design The cabinet is constructed with a narrow baffle -not only an ecstatically neat shape but also anadvantage in terms of sonic performance since themore stable structure effectively reducesresonances in the cabinet.The cabinet is made from 18mm MDF board, whichprovides good sonic qualities.The cabinet is further strengthened by internalbars, which in total ensures a very stableconstruction.Tweeter Driver A ribbon tweeter mounted in a hornprovides superior transient response, a very flatfrequency response and low distortion.The ribbon cone is super light and only 18 micronsthin. It is a sandwich construction of rosin-aluminium-rosin that has been hardened at 320degrees Celsius.The magnet system is a 2 row high-efficiencyneodymium magnets in a moulded chassis ofceramic carbon steel. Fishbone shaped contactorsin aluminium yields a low connection resistanceand good heat derivation.The driver has high power durability and handlesfrequencies up to 40000 Hz which makes it DVD-Audio and SACD-ready.Woofer/ MidrangedriverWe decided on a 5½” driver, providing the bestrelation between power capacity, frequencyresponse, transient response and price.The High grade Polypropylene cone withelectroplated titanium colour is extremely light butstill very stiff and effectively reduces resonances.The rubber surrounding makes sure that no edgeresonances are present.The moulded metal basket is acousticallytransparent and has high precision since the basketis shaped exactly due to the moulding process. Thismakes sure that the basket is very stable andefficiently reduces resonances. The basket isabsolutely non-magnetic, which contributes to ahigher efficiency of the driver.A strong magnet combined with the light coneensures high efficiency and a good transientresponse.
