Xerox personnel reviews preventive maintenance schedulesand service call procedures.Your responsibilitiesXerox is responsible for the physical installation of the printercomponents and for loading the software and applications. You havethe general site responsibility of ensuring that the right personnel andsupplies are available.At the time of installation, you should do the following:• Make sure that your system administrator is available during theloading of software.• For software loading purposes, be prepared to provide Xeroxpersonnel with network information from the preinstallationchecklist. Refer to the “Preparing for installation” chapter of thisguide for specifics regarding network information.• Designate two client workstations for downloading Xerox clientsoftware if applicable: one for initial system validation andanother for use in operator training provided by your systemsanalyst.• Check the documentation and software kits with their packinglists for completeness.• Load Xerox client software on any additional clientworkstations.Remember that you are responsible for supplying, installing,and maintaining your client workstations and the Token Ringnetwork or Ethernet local area network (LAN) that connectsthem with the printer controller. You are also responsible for theEthernet, Token Ring, and FDDI connectors required for yoursystem.• Have test jobs ready to run.• Have your operators available for training.Refer to the installation planning checklist in the “Preparing forinstallation” chapter of this guide for a complete list of responsibilities.
