CentreWare Internet Services2-4 v System Administrator GuideCentreWare Internet ServicesCentreWare Internet Services is an interactive service thatextends the capabilities of CentreWare DP using Internettechnology as the platform. It provides another option forimplementing advanced services for the installation,configuration, and management of your printer. Each ofthe features in CentreWare Internet Services can beaccessed through familiar client-resident softwareinterfaces, such as Netscape Navigator or MicrosoftInternet Explorer browsers. Through a web browser, usersand system administrators will be able to monitor thestatus of the printer, print HTML-based documents, andaccess context sensitive on-line assistance.For system administrators, CentreWare Internet Serviceswill provide a faster and more productive way to installand upgrade software on your printer and a wide range ofsupporting information on the Internet.Setup To set up your printer for Internet/Intranet access, youwill need to do the following:• Configure an IP address for the printer on yournetwork. See “IP Address” (page 1-68 for Ethernet orpage 1-73 for Token Ring).• Enable the embedded HTTP server at the ControlPanel. See “HTTP Enable” (page 1-66 for Ethernet orpage 1-73 for Token Ring).To use the MaiLinx Mail Send and Receive capability, youwill need to establish a mail account for the printer andmay need to install and configure the Xerox Mail PortMonitor.See the Technical Information Guide, the CentreWare InternetServices User Guide, and on-line help for more information onthe operation and use of CentreWare Internet Services.
